WELCOME everyone to SUBtember! This is my one annual subscription drive, so that the rest of the year you and I can both focus on things we love and enjoy, and not have to listen to me making a sales pitch.
SUBtember is first and foremost about you, it’s about this newsletter, and it’s about making sure that I am delivering content that you care about, and that helps you. The mission of the Peasant Times-Dispatch is To educate and inspire Catholics and Christians on the beauty and simplicity of their faith. That’s what the Peasant Life is all about: Simplicity and beauty. The Peasant Life has helped me stress about the world less and love God more, and I know it can help you too.
During SUBtember, as a bit of an enticement, I will be keeping an eye out for:
New subscribers!
Existing subscribers who upgrade to paid subscriptions!
People who engage by liking or commenting on these posts and others!
And I will choose one of you to comp a subscription, for life!
Thank you for being here and supporting the Peasant Times Dispatch!
Dear Subscribers,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for being here, for finding something worthwhile in my offering here at the Peasant Times-Dispatch. Thank you for choosing to express your support to me with a subscription! It really does mean a lot. It tells me that there are people out there who do, in fact, read my work here! And I hope it means that there’s a handful of you who even enjoy it!
But here’s the thing—I don’t know much about you other than the fact that you’ve subscribed. You know what would really help me a lot? Leave a like—show me that you enjoyed a post. Leave a comment—tell me in your own words what you think. Your engagement is about more than mere analytics—Substack doesn’t have an algorithm. It tells me what you think, and gives me some feedback. I can better address my work here to you if you tell me what you like and what you do not.
There are some other ways you can help, too!
Consider telling one person about this substack, and what you enjoy about it? Tell me in the comments if that person took an interest, I would love to hear about your conversations!
Prayerfully consider signing up for a paid subscription. I say prayerfully, because I know inflation is high right now and dollars aren’t exactly easy to come by. I set my subscription levels at the lowest possible amount allowed by Substack—$5 per month, or $30 per year, which comes out to $2.50 per month.
A Paid Subscription has the benefit of giving you access to my paid content, including the Adventures of Tylus Worran—a science fiction parable of my peasantly thought; and the Peasant Life Dialogues, a non-fiction walk through the Peasant philosophy.
A Paid Subscription directly supports me and my writing, and helps me to bring this Peasant project to it’s fully realized form. I really believe in this Peasant Life idea and I think the world and the Church needs this philosophy. Your support helps to make that a reality!
Consider supporting other writers on substack whom I support?
Today I would like to highlight The Wildroot Parables (CLICK HERE)! SE Reid has made a name for herself in Substack circles as the small substack with a positive message for the “Office Hours” every Thursday. Her personal reflections, positivity, and poetry offer an excellent place for contemplation and reflection. She was an early subscriber to the Peasant Times-Dispatch when I was getting off the ground, and a great way you can support me is by showing your support for The Wildroot Parables too! Let the rising tide raise all ships!
