This was a wonderful episode! I can confirm that reading prayers your wrote years ago is a great way to recognize the astounding ways God has answered your prayers and worked in your life. Thanks for your thoughtful reflections and encouragement towards a life of prayer!

Thank you for those beautiful thoughts brother. You inspired so many thoughts in me.

For the sake of brevity I will just say that the times when God has shown up most quickly and most powerfully and most obviously loving, in answer to prayer, is when I showed a genuine interest in strengthening my relationship with him by asking him to reveal to me sins that I was not admitting to myself.

How do you ask someone for something when you did not have a good relationship with them.

We, as Christians, need to stop kidding ourselves about how strong a relationship we have with God. How are we complaining about unanswered prayer when we are treating God like a magic genie instead of as our loving heavenly father?

This was wonderful! Congratulations on two years, also your thoughts on prayer were brilliant; I hadn't heard the saints and Our Lady put in the context of the parable with the guy asking for bread at midnight before. I've been trying to work on my prayer more myself, so this was great encouragement. We've developed a sort of relationshio with St. Eulalia of Merida, not one of the best-known ones, but as the patron of strong-willed children we've called on her more than a few times of late.

Glad you're on here, my friend. :)
