Dear Luke,
I appreciate the distinction and I think you’re on to something - that goodness and greatness are really degrees of fidelity to Christ.
I would bookend your continuum of Christian men with Saint Francis and and Saint Louis the IX. From least to greatest in the realm of earthy possessions and authority. Did both take the circumstances of birth, fate or choice and then use what they had for the greater glory of God?
