I am not a non-conformist modern intellectual but an indignant medieval peasant.

Change Is Afoot
Dear readers and subscribers to the Peasant Times-Dispatch,
It’s been lean times, again! You haven’t had an article since May 15th nor a podcast since May 10th. Thank you for staying with me, regardless.
The Peasant Life, and the whole peasant ideal which Hambone and I have been working on since basically the dawn of our friendship, is a complicated project. Christianity is it’s own advocate—we aren’t telling you to do something new, we aren’t even telling you what to think. We are teaching a frame of mind. And that’s hard! That’s a hard sales pitch to make. I’ve struggled with the balance, and have mostly accomplished anything at all by persistence and by a loosey-goosey definition of what it is that I write about.
But, it caught up to me. I no longer felt like I understood what this space was FOR. After a lengthy and interesting conversation with Hambone, I’ve decided to shift gears quite suddenly, on multiple fronts. I am calling this overall shift “Season Three”.
What Is Season Three?
Season Three is just a new season in the ever-evolving nature of the Peasant Times-Dispatch. There will be some changes, which I will explain next. The biggest change is in how this information will be packaged and presented to you.
You will continue to receive one monthly essay. It will involve a quote, like the epigraph to this very post, and it will be an essay talking about the quote. That’s it!
I am not trying to sell you something new. I am not trying to enrich myself. I am not trying to tell you I have all the answers. I am trying to tell you these wise folks whom I will be quoting have good ideas, I am trying to tell you the Church has answers. I am trying to tell you that your life can be simpler and less anxious if you internalize these things.
What Is Changing?
You will continue to get monthly essays, centered around peasantly quotes.
The monthly podcast is going away, and all prior podcast episodes will be un-paywalled. That’s right, we’re going full NPR here are the Peasant Times-Dispatch. Your paid subscription supports this project but this is stuff that I think everyone can benefit from so it doesn’t feel right to lock it behind a paywall.
Weekly Office Hours Chats, which I began some weeks ago, will continue on THURSDAYS!
Images in posts?? I have an idea but we’ll see how that goes.
Thank You
Thank you for being here. A newsletter, like anything in life, is a living experiment, and a constant effort to adapt and mature and try to find the perfect fit. The Peasant Life is important, and it’s important to get it right.
I am looking forward to bringing you Season Three of the Peasant Times-Dispatch.
God bless you!

Love the idea of unpacking quotes. I've always enjoyed discussing short quotes and passages at length, seeing what deeper wisdom can be gained from them.
Seasons change :)
