Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you. Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is sweet and my burden light
-Matthew 11:28-30
One of the things that motivated me to start the Peasant Life Substack is that this idea has helped me to worry about the world less. There are a lot of news and views that is geared towards getting people riled up and angry or maybe sad and discouraged. Gather around and lay your burdens down: What keeps you up at night? What worries weigh you down? Let’s talk about it!
Not going to lie, I think about the war in Ukraine a lot. I would like to practice what I preach on this and put it out of my mind. On the one hand I enjoy military history so that angle is interesting, but the consequences are also dramatic--I was hoping the war would be over quickly and it's not looking like that is likely. The longer it goes the more apprehensive I get.
I have to trust that God is in charge and knows what's going on and I don't need to second guess him! Hard to do when times are tumultuous but it is also the most important to do in such times.

How about the rest of you? What's on your mind?
The unknown - but it also gives me hope.
